You know when people ask what you do and you pause for a second because the real answer is a bit complicated?
Yeah, that’s us with TIWICO.
We’re Lew and Nilly. Together since 2006. Been solving problems together just as long — we just didn’t have a name for it until now.
Lew is a Master Draughtsman with that particular brand of Kiwi ingenuity that makes complex things look simple. He doesn’t just draw steel — he solves the problems that make it fit perfectly the first time. Over the past two years he’s delivered specialist fabrication design across a project portfolio worth £7.5 million. He’s the person fabricators call when the pipeline is growing faster than the design team can keep up.
Nilly is a creative with a gift for seeing what people are building before they can see it themselves. She works with Muslim women founders who are ready to stop operating behind the scenes — helping them find the shape of their vision and start building something that lasts. She’s also the founder of Stori Dori, a maker, and a community builder with a lot of ideas and the patience to do them properly.
The partnership has always worked like this. Early on, Nilly was flying by the seat of her pants getting her journal business off the ground — cursing at leather patterns that wouldn’t fit, about to waste an entire skin. Lew walked in, took one look, and nested those patterns like he was laying out steel plates. Saved the collection, saved her sanity, and probably the rent that month.
That’s been the dance ever since.

Different worlds, same precision. We cross-pollinate our thinking, challenge each other’s blind spots, and each do what we do best. After nearly two decades of this we figured it was time to stop calling it “just helping each other out” and start calling it what it is.
